Inspection and control of ferrous and non-ferrous metal scrap for explosion safety

What is the management of scrap and metal waste to prevent explosion hazards?

This is a postgraduate training program that focuses on the rules for handling scrap metal at its reception, storage, processing, disposal, and marketing. It also covers the organization of specialized explosive hazard management for scrap metal.

Handling metals in an enterprise without conducting a safety inspection is recognized as a serious violation of licensing regulations (Government Decree No. 1287 dated 12/12/2012). For this reason, the company could be brought to administrative responsibility and face fines under Articles 5.27.1 and 14.26 of the Administrative Code, up to 100 thousand rubles (approximately $13,000).

Safety rules (NPAOT 37.0-1.01-09) require such checks to be conducted three times - when receiving, sorting, and shipping metal during the sale. Verification of compliance with the explosive safety conditions of the scrap metal is conducted under the supervision of a responsible person designated at the enterprise (rules approved by government resolutions No. 369 and No. 370 dated 5/11/2001). In order to organize inspections, designated responsible employees require special training, which will be provided through the training program "Control of Scrap and Metal Waste for Explosive Safety" at the CPPC.

Description of the Program
Postgraduate professional training is available in both full-time and part-time formats. Our educational process is conducted remotely, and we provide educational and informational materials to students in electronic form through the service platform vedana-sdo.ru. Students have unlimited access to these materials.

We conduct classes and exams through online testing, which allows us to evaluate students' knowledge as soon as it is ready. We immediately post and publish the test results, providing access to employers. After successfully completing the program, students will receive a certificate of professional development.

Goals and Objectives
The overall goal of this program is to enhance students' professional skills, familiarize them with the relevant regulatory framework, and equip them with techniques and equipment necessary for conducting explosion hazard checks during various stages of working with scrap metal. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to organize specialized scrap metal control at their workplace and conduct employee briefings.
